03 / BEHIND THE CAMERA
Giovanni
Fortunato.
At four, I wanted to amaze my family with a magic trick. Today, I look for that same sense of wonder through film.
At eighteen, I picked up my father’s camcorder and turned a visit to a botanical garden into a little story. Hearing my family laugh, I realised I had found another way to express myself.
I started at a small television station in Milan, filming and directing live broadcasts. Studying cinema then taught me that a camera can do much more than record reality: it can offer a way of seeing it.
I’m a documentary director, and I also make commercials and short films. Through Rubedo Films, I bring that perspective to projects for businesses and people, from the first idea to the final edit.
